Al Gore challenges the U.S. to kick the fossil fuel habit in the next decade. Comparing it to the 1960s and sending a man to the moon is a great way to put it but some do not agree.
“Robby Diamond, president of a bipartisan think tank called Securing America’s Future Energy, said weaning the nation off fossil fuels could not be done in a decade.
“The country is not going to be able to go cold turkey,” he told the Associated Press.
“We have a hundred years of infrastructure with trillions of dollars of investment that is not simply going to be made obsolete.”
The last part of that comment being the most disturbing as that is the attitude big business and anyone who’s invested in the country’s infrastructure are going to take. Just remember this comment when this starts to be debated heavily and people try to come up with other excuses.
